We offer several coaching opportunities to support our clients’ healing journey. Coaching is effective at moving us through stuck points in our lives, revealing the true source of our pain and suffering, and helping us to redefine our purpose and reconnect with our joy and inner peace.

Functional Health Coaching

Ever felt unwell and gone to the doctor, and after much testing, you were told that there’s nothing to worry about and it’s all in your head?  Ever wondered why some diets work for some people but not for others?  Ever recovered from a major illness and feel like you’ve hit a plateau on your healing journey back to feeling like your true self?  Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDN) is an approach to restoring balance that has helped tens of thousands of persons suffering from myriad dysfunctions in the body. It works by identifying imbalances in the body’s metabolic systems (often through testing), and then coaching to bring them back into balance using tried and true, holistic protocols.

HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) may provide indications of mineral imbalances, deficiencies, and excesses of many essential and toxic elements.   Minerals, unlike vitamins, cannot be synthesized within the body and are considered by some as “the spark plugs in the chemistry of life”.  They are necessary for a wide range of body functions including cellular metabolism, structural support, nerve conduction, muscular activity, immune functions, antioxidant, endocrine activity, and enzyme function among others.  HTMA can provide a cost-effective “first look” at your body’s metabolic picture.

Functional coaching with Kim is a way of learning self-care to restore balance, function, and resilience for life.  FDN and HTMA are best paired with manual lymphatic drainage therapy to allow Kim to do a physical assessment as well.

Note that deep healing may require changes to your current lifestyle and so it’s important to be ready to commit fundamental changes to your daily routine.  If you keep on doing what you’ve always done, how can you affect change?  The choice is yours…

The Process

Our goal is to help guide your body, mind, and spirit to a healthier, more balanced, and resilient state.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy leverages hypnosis to support healing in our emotional, mental and physical bodies. Through hypnosis-induced relaxation, hypnotherapy works to bypass the conscious mind and access the subconscious mind in order to alter behavior, thoughts and perceptions.

In hypnotherapy a skilled hypnotherapist utilizes the power of suggestion to focus and help the patient become conscious to how emotions or behaviors originate.  Techniques such as guided imagery, altered states of consciousness, visualization and verbal repetition are used to create a transformative experience that can help promote deep healing at a psychological level. By altering the clients’ responses towards distressing events or situations and providing insights into new ways of thinking, hypnotherapy aids in successful recovery from life’s daily struggles.

Benefits of hypnotherapy include behavioral changes, increased focus and concentration, decreased stress levels and deeper relaxation than before. Additionally, hypnotherapy can even be used for reducing symptoms of chronic pain or decreasing the intensity of strong emotions like fear or anxiety.

Investment: $150 for a 60 minute session

Spiritual Counseling

Our emotions are not who we are, but they are a guide to understanding our thoughts and beliefs; denial of emotions creates dis-ease in the body.  Our emotions and fears arise from our beliefs, which form collectively and individually based on our culture, family history, and life circumstances.  Our counseling is gentle and compassionate. We will help bring awareness to your emotions, allowing you to move into acceptance of what you feel and what beliefs underpin those feelings. Opening this space allows for us to forgive, release and set new intentions for how we desire to live in relationship with ourselves and the world around us.

Spiritual Counseling with Crystal Kaplan can also be combined with Craniosacral Therapy, Reiki, or Chakra Balancing.

Peer Coaching for Mental Health & Wellness

Are you facing unexpected challenges that leave you feeling stressed, raw, or vulnerable and you’re not sure what to do about it? Do you ever struggle with anxiety or depression or even feel like you’re losing your mind? Or perhaps you know a loved one who is struggling with depression or anxiety and you want to know what you can do to help.  Do you ever feel like you just need to talk to someone about what’s going on whose not a doctor or clinician?  Perhaps you simply could use additional support to what you already have? Let our Peer Coaching for Mental Wellness hold space for your healing journey.

Peer Coaching is a non-clinical, person-centered, trauma-informed, strength-based approach to support you or a loved one on their journey with mental wellness. Peer Coaching is offered by our Peer Recovery Coach, trained through the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities and registered under the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Peer Coaching provides safe, non-judgmental, and empathetic support, while meeting you where you are to support whatever mental health challenge you may be facing.

When you come in, the peer coach will share what peer coaching is, what they can offer as well as discuss expectations and boundaries. Then you and the coach will then explore what brings you in for the session. Some of what you can expect during a session could include:

  • Just talking or sharing information. Sharing lived experience. Providing a listening ear. An outlet.
  • Creating wellness plans, self-care plans, and identifying triggers and coping strategies
  • Exploring and/or identifying your supports such as friends, family, professionals, or other resources.

Topics that we might explore could include:

Anxiety, resilience and resilience building, dimensions of wellness, stages of change, serious mental illness, self-compassion, self-awareness, stigma, depression, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, trauma, work/life balance, burnout, awareness and education, self-advocacy, mental health in the workplace, caregiving, maintenance and recovery, and psychosis
