Breaking Barriers, Building Brilliance
Teal Center's Visionary Approach to Educational Success for Students with Learning Difficulties led by Kathie Guhl
The clinical data we collect from this initial focus group will allow the Center to apply for research funding to conduct a clinical trial. Therefore, by participating in this initial study, you not only will be helping your child to learn more easily and effectively, but you will also be contributing to the field of research in finding an effective treatment for dyslexia and learning difficulties.
Overview
The pilot project was developed by Kathie Guhl years ago and is now being brought to the D.C. area. In designing the program, Kathie worked with two clinical child psychologists, a neurologist and two other energy kinesiologists. Together, they created a treatment protocol designed to alleviate reading, math, and writing problems.
The protocol also addresses memory, letter and number reversal, and behavior anomalies caused by school complications and attitudes toward school itself. The program uses energy kinesiology and muscle testing to monitor and then improve brain function. The brain function improvement then allows the child to learn in a more natural way.
Commitment
Ten 2-hour sessions
Time
4:00 – 6:00 pm every Friday for 10 weeks
Start Date
Fall 2024
The Teal Center is partially sponsoring this pilot program and would like to invite you to participate.
We are looking for children nine to ten years old who have been diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD or ADHD. This program has been proven to alter Weschler’s Intelligence Scale for Children, Revised (WISC) test scores, improving both right and left hemisphere functions along with the corpus callosum. It is non- invasive, only requiring the child to lie on a massage table and be muscle tested.
Discover a non-invasive,
proven approach to enhancing brain function
and overcoming learning obstacles.
The investment will be $2,000 for the 10 sessions ($100 per hour) to cover costs associated with the practitioners administering the treatment. This cost represents a 50% discount on the regular fees of $4,000 for this treatment protocol. Each child will also need a WISC test before and after the treatment; each test costs $250 paid directly to the psychologist administering the tests. If your child already has a WISC test result, there is no need for a new one before treatment begins.
Through the course of the protocol, it is natural to not observe an obvious change in your child’s performance until the end of the ten sessions; so please do not start the program if you do not intend to finish. Stopping in the middle will only frustrate you and interfere with the program.
You can read more about Kathie Guhl and the program being offered plus some testimonials from parents and psychologists by going to her website at www.bridgesk.com. Kathie is also a practitioner at The Teal Center and you find her bio HERE. We are including a few WISC tests below to show the value of the program and how brain function can be changed, therefore improving a child’s ability to learn.
If you and your child are interested in participating, please email Teal Center Director Crystal Kaplan (crystalk@tealcenter.com) and Clinical Supervisor Lucille Eddy (LucilleE@tealcenter.com).
