Jennifer Finnegan’s arrival at the Teal Center is the culmination of a lifetime dedicated to global wellness that has included teaching experiential environmental science, running an award-winning schoolyard gardening program, and assisting more than 300 births as a doula in the DMV.

Jen began studying massage as a critical tool in healthy labor and delivery. The study and practice quickly became a clear path to release and heal some of her own chronic pain and dis-ease. The story continues to write itself from there!

Jen graduated from Northern Virginia School of Therapeutic Massage. She loves helping support clients in their search for ease with combinations of Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Myofascial work. Prenatal massage holds a special place in her heart as she keenly understands the challenge of finding a moment of comfort in pregnancy.

Jen recently completed certification in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) and Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.

Studying the intricate dynamics of the bodies systems and focusing on the lymph reminded her to appreciate the amazing connections and holistic view while focusing on the support of a single piece of the puzzle (see below for one of her favorite ways to unwind!)

Jen enters every session with the goal of creating space in which members of her community can leave behind the rush and burden of daily life, and remember the taste of peace. She believes that it is through individual release and healing that we promote the well-being of our broader world.

When not engaged in bodywork, Jen recharges herself by spending time paddling, camping, puzzling (the sweet spot is a 1000 piece), and with her children and friends.

Jenn's schedule:

Sunday and Monday: Morning to early afternoon

Friday: Every other Friday, afternoon to evening

***Schedule subject to change (i.e scheduled time off, holidays, office closures, etc)

Jennifer was amazing! Her knowledge of what is helpful postpartum was just what I needed after having a baby.
