We can take our meditation practice into anything that we do, be it walking, breathing, poses, doing our laundry, cooking, playing… it is about being in the present moment. At our workshop we will dabble in a few different meditation practices, eventually bringing meditation to our dance and dance to our meditation. We will practice being in the moment of of our movement. We will move through different beats, exploring the rhythms of the music and how the simplicity of complexity of the music affects us in our bodies. We will move to funky beats, swirly beats, loud beats, quiet beats. Join us if you like to move to music or if you simply feel the need to move!
Facilitated by Debi Roemer: Debi is a massage, craniosacral and yoga practitioner, a musician and has always been involved in dance and movement. Her interest in the mind/body/spirit connection influences her approach to these modalities and informs her outlook on how we move and function in the world. She lives in Rockville, MD with her husband, 3 children and 2 cats.
